
Cookwithdena Easy Kabseh
This is a quick rice pilaf that’s inspired by Kabseh rice. I recommend using sela (parboiled) for my rice to water measurements.
Ingredients:
• 3 cups sela basmati rice
• 1 can diced tomatoes with peppers (rotel)
• 1 tsp Kabseh spice
• 1 tsp chicken bouillon or vegetable soup starter powder
• 1/4 tsp black pepper
• 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
• 2 tbs olive oil
• 5 1/2 c hot water
Directions:
In a large wide bottom saucepan or pot. Bring to a boil the canned tomatoes and oil with the seasonings. Next add in the rice mix well and the water. Bring to a rolling boil, cover the pot and lower the heat. Keep on low for 20 minutes. Ready to serve! Enjoy with some roasted lamb, chicken, fish… etc….⁃ Cookwithdena
