Middle Eastern Style Baked Pasta

Every region has their take on how pasta should be made, here’s my version of the Middle Eastern style pasta!

Prep and cook time less than an hour

Ingredients:
• 2 onions diced
• 6-7 cloves of garlic crushed
• 3 pounds of ground beef
• 2 pounds pasta
• 8 oz tomato paste, 1 can petite diced tomatoes (or two jars of Marinara sauce)
• 1/2 c olive oil
• 1 1/2 tbs allspice
• 1/4 tsp cinnamon
• 1 1/2 tbs chicken bouillon powder
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp black pepper
• 1 tsp Allepo Pepper
• 1 tsp paprika
In a large pot boil pasta until al dente, reserve 5 cups pasta water. (If using jarred Marinara don’t reserve any pasta water)
In another pot sauté the onions and garlic in the olive oil until softened. Add in the ground beef and keep breaking it up while sautéing. Once the meat is gray throughout add in the spices, mix well. Next, add in the tomato paste and pasta water. Let it simmer for about five minutes. At this point add the pasta to the sauce. You can serve it like this, or in a baking dish, bake the pasta uncovered on 400f for about 15-20 mins. Serve with some yogurt on the side.
