Lamb Shank Osso Buco

Osso Buco is a savory and flavorful Italian braised shank recipe, here’s an easy way to make It yourself at home!

Ingredients:

  • 3 Lamb shanks
  • 2 cups onion diced
  • 2 cups diced carrots
  • 2 cups diced celery
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 sprigs rosemary
  • 3 sprigs thyme
  • 5 cups chicken stock
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbs flour
  • Cooking oil or ghee
  • 1 tbs tomato paste
    Directions: in a large bowl season lamb with salt and pepper. Sprinkle flour all around the lamb and set aside. In a large Dutch oven on medium high heat, add in half a cup of cooking oil. Once it’s hot browned the lamb shanks on all sides then remove and set aside. In the same Dutch oven add in the onions carrots celery and aromatics. Sauté until the vegetables soften, then add in the tomato paste and chicken stock and then add in the lamb shanks. Lower the heat and cover turning the lamb shanks over every 20 minutes for two hours. When the lamb is finished you should have a beautiful gravy to serve along with the lamb shanks.
