This is easy to make and delicious as a side dish or all alone. I use chicken bouillon, your welcome to use beef flavored or vegetable soup mix instead. The rice I prefer is the sella parboiled basmati rice. It’s fluffy, can handle the seasonings and cooks beautiful.
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Servings: 5-6
Ingredients:
⁃ 3 tbs olive oil
⁃ 2 tbs tomato paste
⁃ 3 cups sella parboiled basmati rice washed and strained
⁃ 2 tsp seven spice
⁃ 3 tsp chicken bouillon powder
⁃ 2 bay leaves
⁃ 6 cups pre-boiled water
Directions:
In a pot on high heat, add in all ingredients but the water and rice. Let them all sizzle in the oil, then add in the rice and mix it well. Add in the hot water. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce to the lowest setting and keep it covered for 20 minutes. Remove lid and fluff…… your ready to eat!
