
Rice with Vermicelli

Ingredients:
1. 3 c parboiled basmati rice
2. 1 c Vermicelli
3. 1/4 c vegetable oil
4. 1 tbs salt
5. 6 c hot water
Directions:
1. Preheat your pot on medium high heat.
2. Add in the oil and vermicelli, keep stirring constantly until golden brown. If you don’t constantly stir it will get burned or toasted unequally.
3. As soon as the vermicelli is golden brown immediately add in the rice and salt. And mix very well for a minute.
4. Next add in the hot water.
5. Let the pot come to a rolling boil.
6. Cover and reduce the heat to the lowest setting. Don’t open the rice or move the pot for 20 mins.
7. Open the lid and make sure the rice is fully cooked. Turn off the heat and fluff the rice.
If the rice isn’t cooked, keep the stove on low, sprinkle some water onto the rice to build steam again, cover and leave it alone for another ten mins.
