Roasted Turkey:

I love roasting a delicious turkey. It’s one of the meals I look forward to every year. I don’t brine because I simply don’t have the refrigerator space to place it. So follow my directions for an easy way to prepare an amazing turkey.

Roasted Turkey

Seasoned Butter for Turkey Ingredients

2 STICKS OF SOFTENED BUTTER

2 TBS BETTER THAN BOUILLON

2 TBS TURKEY SEASONING

1/2 TSP PAPRIKA

1 TSP GARLIC POWDER

1 TSP BLACK PEPPER

Mix together and set aside

For roasting you will need either DOUBLE FOIL TRAYS (Bc turkey is heavy and the weight isn’t distributed in the pan, you need extra support) or a metal roasting pan. Place the following in the bottom of the roasting pan.

LAYER CARROTS AND CELERY

1 HEAD OF GARLIC

ROSEMARY

THYME

SAGE

Now DRY the turkey INSIDE AND OUT using pepper towels.

USE YOUR HAND TO SEPARATE THE SKIN FROM THE BREAST.(as shown in video)

INSERT SOME OF THE HERBED BUTTER IN BETWEEN THE BREAST AND THE SKIN.

RUB THE REST OF THE HERBED BUTTER INSIDE AND AROUND THE TURKEY

PLACE THE TURKEY ONTOP OF THE AROMATICS

INSIDE OF THE TURKEY PUT A FEW STICKS CARROTS AND CELERY STICKS ALONG WITH THE POULTRY MIX OF HERBS

350F PREHEATED OVEN

18 MINS PER POUND

INTERNAL TEMPERATURE OF 165F

MINE WAS 13 POUNDS

SO I ROASTED IT FOR AN HOUR AT 350F AND FOR 3 HOURS AT 325F

So a total of 4 hours, basting every 30 mins

Allow turkey to rest about 30 before serving so the juices can redistribute
